Sincere sympathy to the Spillane family on the untimely passing of Bernard. Bernard attended his first Legion of Mary meeting in Father O Leary's Memorial Hall in the late 60s. We never thought at that time it was to be the start of over 50 years of selfless service to the young boys who attended the club, the Legion of Mary and also to the Cathedral Parish. I have so many happy memories of our time in the Mon and our daily contact as neighbours when I resided on Cathedral Road. His passing is a devastating loss to his family and also to his community. May he rest in peace.
Dear Bernard’s nearest and dearest,

My most heartfelt condolences for losing someone so special from your life. May you find some comfort in the wonderful memories you made and never forget the special times. So sorry to learn of my former Line Manager, Bernard’s passing. He was a unique force who guided you with insight and inspiration. He was known as a true gentleman, kind individual, helpful team player and really terrific Line Manager with a great sense of humour. He recognised accomplishments, encouraged and appreciated employees and modelled thoughtfulness day after day. It is one thing to be a boss, another thing to be a mentor, but completely different thing to be a Leader. Thank you for being you! It’s people like you who make the world a much nicer place to be. RIP
