It was such a shock to learn of Bernadette's sad passing. We met in 1978, working together in Roscommon and sharing a flat. I looked forward in recent years to meeting up in Athlone and our annual letter/telephone call at Christmas. I miss you my friend and know that you are safe with your family in heaven. RIP Bernadette, a life well lived and much loved 🙏

I was very sad to hear of Bernie's passing. She was always so kind, warm and friendly towards me. From when we were children, surely driving her insane asking relentlessly for Mr Freeze's, cans of 7up, and packets of silvermints from behind the bar! Her patience and good humour was always appreciated and her absence will be felt deeply in Derrybrien and much, much further afield. Rest in peace, Bernie.
