As a West Kerrywoman I am proud to say I knew and respected Bernie hugely from his days in KCBlakes. Always a warm welcome on arrival at the door and a fond farewell on departure. He really loved Kerry and we used to chat about football, tourism and any other news from the Ríocht.
A true gentleman, he was much loved by all.
I am truly very sad to hear of his passing. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal, together with Mary again.
