Sincere condolences to Bernie’s family on her loss. Working as a nurse in LCH we all loved to see Bernie coming on her rounds as PHN seeing to the vaccination of Babies in Maternity and other duties around the hospital. Everyone knew Bernie nothing was and trouble to her she was a rock of sense. A story from the past My mother being from Donegal Town herself (Maureen Crawford)was delighted to have Bernie call to administer TB treatment for her in the early 70’s I was still at school but remember the Craic of the 2 Donegal women when they got together . RIP Bernie you have earned your place in Heaven 🙏

Bernie was a wonderful colleague with great sympathy and humanity. Lovely to have known her.

Bernie was a “ legend “ ! We were privileged to have known her and to have been her neighbour for a number of years. Her good deeds go before her.

My deepest sympathy goes to the entire Doherty and Kelly Family and friends on the passing of Bernie.
She was a bouncy, jovial character. Bernie was a wise and very helpful colleague to me when I first took up my positon in the Louth Public Health Nursing Service. She was truly grounded and always kept the welfare of both patients and staff as her top priority. Loyalty was extremely important to her.
She had many interests and friends throughout her life in Dundalk though always clearly cherished her Donegal routes.
May she rest in peace

My sincerest condolences to the Kelly & Doherty Families on the passing of Bernie .......I met her first in 1980....in Dundalk...She was always a great lady to talk to...and she had a great sense of humour.......and she was also a great Donegal Supporter.......and I remember travelling with her to Carrick-on Shannon in October 1982 to see Donegal defeat Roscommon in the All Ireland Under 21 Final...her nephew Michael Kelly was the Donegal Goal Keeper that eventful day....may Bernie Rest in Peace....she will be missed..

It is with great sadness that I say goodbye to Bernie. She was a kind and caring person, a wonderful nurse, always there with warmth and generosity for those she loved. A wonderful friend to my Aunt Bridget and my mother, Rose, she brought so much light into their lives—and into everyone she came in contact with. Bernie’s friendship was a true gift. She will be deeply mourned by myself, Emma, Louisa and Suzanne,. She gave us all such wonderful support at the time of Gerry’s death. She will be remembered by all of us with much love.
