It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Bernie. May her beautiful soul rest in peace. Our deepest sympathies to her husband William, sisters Marie, Annette and Martina, brother Michael, extended Daly and Heffernan families and to all her many friends and neighbours. Bernie was an icon at the Reception at the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore. She deftly managed all visitors, staff and patients with her usual efficiency, kindness and good humour. One always counted on seeing her smiling, helpful and lovely face over her many years of loyal service there. Anyone worried on entering Bernie quickly cheered up with her quick wit and ability to banish anxiety while in her good company. Bernie’s humour was infectious and made many a person’s day brighter.
