I am very sorry to hear of my cousin, Bernie's death. A good cyclist in former years he often visited his uncle Michael in Oran, bringing all the news from Killasolan and environs. Both men enjoyed those chats.
Bernie was a happy, thoughtful, and kind person who found pleasure in small things. I extend my deepest sympathy to you all and am sorry that I was unable to attend his funeral. Bernie is in Heaven now.

I met Bernie on one occasion, I will never forget his kindness to me on a cold January evening in 1977, I was working on the Killasolan Group Water Scheme, Bernie brought me to his house where his wife prepared a wonderful tea for me, it is wonderful that he lived to such a great age, he deserved it.
