A Poem for Aunty Bernie

Aunty Bernie, with a heart so wide,
A constant beacon, a family guide.
Through childhood days, your love would bloom,
A light that chased away all gloom.

We’d walk to your house, so full of cheer,
Where laughter echoed, warm and clear.
In the garden, we’d toil under sunlit skies,
Learning life’s lessons through your kind eyes.

Now years have passed, yet the bond remains,
In Ireland’s heart, your love sustains.
With Barry and our kids, I visit your door,
The joy of those days still lives in the core.

Your pride shines bright in Tommy, Anita, Jacqueline’s glow,
And your grandchildren, where love continues to grow.
Aunty Bernie, you’re a treasure so rare,
A godmother’s love, beyond compare.

Forever grateful, we hold you dear,
A part of our hearts, year after year.

Rest in peace beautiful, loving, caring and might craic lady . We will love you forever xx 💖

Bernie played an important role in minding me as a little girl and we kept a strong connection for over 50 years. I am grateful for her role in my life and my thoughts are with Tommie, Anita, Jacqueline and all Bernie’s family. I have many wonderful memories which I will cherish. Rest in Peace Bernie.
