Bert was a man I’ll forever be grateful to have known, he treated me like he would his own grandchildren and always put a smile on his face, wether it was the stories of his time in the war or buying me and bar of chocolate he was too kind. I’ll never forget the time I ran infront of his car when I was a child 😂 I can look back and laugh now but at the time I’d say I gave him a heart attack. Rest in peace to the man and to karishma Omer edith and family I’m so sorry for your loss

I have such fond memories growing up in Belvedere Lawn with you all and both our families were friendly throughout our years living there. Your Dad looked after me very well when I joined Douglas Tennis Club as a young girl. I have great memories of him during those years in Douglas Tennis Club and he was a huge part of its success. I will remember him fondly and the many lovely chats we had throughout my younger years. My thoughts and prayers are with you all and may your beloved Dad Rest In Peace.

Lovely memories of playing tennis in the old Douglas Tennis club in the late 1970s and then moving to the new club in 1982. Mr Wilkins, as us juniors always knew him, did trojan work for the club over many years and deserves much credit. May he rest in peace.
