So sorry to hear of the passing of Betty Ann. My mother, Brita, was a good friend of hers and Michael, and I remember often visiting the house on York Road. Always a big smile, standing at the purple door. Rest in peace, and you're with your darling Michael again now. x
Sincere sympathies to Betty Ann's family. Michael was my mother's cousin (Emilie O'Sullivan, Limerick) and I used to meet Betty Ann and Michael a bit in the latter years of my Uncle's life (Conor O'Conor, Limerick, Booterstown - also Michael's cousin). She was always so full of life.
"Flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."
RIP Betty Ann
Sincere sympathy to Betty Ann's brother,Jim & family.
(I was a student in Harcourt St. in the '70s & '80s & a teacher there for a short period in the '90s.)

I was secretary of Féile Luimní Speech and Drama during some of Betty Ann's visits as adjudicator. On each occasion, Betty Ann proved herself professional, organised, kind, generous and, most of all, good-humoured in her dealings with the children who were competing, their parents, teachers and with members of the local committee. A great, great loss.
So sorry to hear of the death of Betty Ann. Lovely memories of her from my time in Our Ladys School in the 1960s to my childrens time with her in Harcourt Street and Rathmines. She was a very special person. May she rest in peace.
My deepest sympathies on the death of Betty Anne. She was truly inspirational. RIP.
My deepest sympathy to Betty Ann's family. I enjoyed many years as an adult student in the 90's in Harcourt Street. May she rest in peace. Pat
Betty Ann was a remarkable woman. I will never forget her kindness, passion and enthusiasm for theatre. Sincerest condolences to Jim and family. RIP
She was an incredibly inspiring woman and wholly responsible for my love of literature and theatre, my first career of acting and writing and the friendship groups I hold dear. Requiescat in pace Betty Ann
Treasured memories of attending Betty Anne’s classes , first in 57 Harcourt Street and later on St Stephen’s Green and finally 27 Harcourt Street. Betty Anne looked out for her pupils and I remember being cast at her recommendation in plays in The Abbey theatre, in the Dublin Shakespeare Society studios and other productions long after I finished studying with her. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal.
It was with a heavy heart that I learned of Betty Ann's passing. It's hard to imagine the tour de force that she was as being anything other than passionate and vibrant. At the age of nine, Betty Ann saw something in me when I attended one of her summer courses at The Louis in Rathmines. That week, she awarded me a scholarship to her Speech and Drama School in Harcourt Street. Each Thursday and Saturday, I spent seven blissful hours losing myself there and becoming whoever I wanted to be. Betty Ann, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for instilling a love of theatre within me. As a teacher now myself, I can honestly say - you were an inspirational teacher, and you cared so much for all of us. We will miss you, but hope you can now be reunited with Michael in a happier place. All my love. Rest in Peace and Break a Leg!
Brilliant teacher. Gave me a love for drama. Studied with her in the 80s and worked for her in the 90s . R.I.P.
So sorry to learn of Betty Ann's passing. I was a student of hers in Harcourt Street in the mid 90s. A great and elegant lady with an infectious passion for theatre and drama, which she transmitted to her students. Our evening lessons were always great fun and highly entertaining as well being hugely instructive. Rest in peace Betty Ann.
I am so very sad to hear that Betty Ann has passed away. Betty Ann was a uniquely talented and wonderful Lady. Even now her light shines brightly on those lucky enough to have know her. My deepest sympathies to Jim. May Betty Ann rest in Peace.

I’ll always appreciate Betty Ann’s great kindness towards myself and my daughter as teacher and student. I was teaching with her till we had to call suspend this year’s programme, but she continued to work towards a resumption, and the summer school, and she’s been such an unbelievable force amidst all the challenges that came her way and Michael’s for all these years, it’s become impossible to credit that something, anything, could defeat her impudent, unrelenting spirit and take her from us. It’s so sad but I firmly believe that she and Michael are noisily gladdening and cheering up heaven like they always did this world.
God bless her and all honour to her for her remarkable career, and lifelong service and love of drama, and those who wanted to make it, she lived a full and purposeful life and will be missed by so many. It was a privilege to work with her. Ar dheis De go raibh a hanam. Thank you so much to Grace and Ciara for keeping everyone informed it shows just how much they thought of Betty Ann.

Sincere sympathy to Betty Ann's family and friends. Wonderful memories of her years teaching speech and drama at Loreto College St. Stephen's Green. May she rest in peace.
We were saddened to hear of the passing of dear Betty Ann who positively sparkled the last time we spoke in late 2018. She seemed invincible. (It was at the launch of a book on the Gate Theatre so it was a theatre audience and so many people were thrilled to see her there.) She was a lovely woman, a great drama teacher and a kind, warm and supportive friend. We knew Betty Ann and Michael for over four decades. We send our deepest sympathies to Jim, Mary and their family.
Very sad to hear of Betty Ann's death. She was a lovely person and will be sadly missed by all of the staff here at Dubray Dun Laoghaire, where she had been a loyal and welcome customer for many years.

R.I.P. Miss Norton as we called her in Rockford Manor in the 60’s and 70’s such a glamorous, Titan haired lady, always impeccably turned out and the velvety spoken words rolled off her voice box like jewelled golden honey.......
