Mrs Lane (to us always) was always a fun loving very glamorous lady who was gym years ahead of the time. In general a careful driver except when serving out into the middle of the road to avoid our dog Bobby Socks from pulling off the silver rim of her mini. She was always so welcoming, funny and interested in what we were up to. As children whether we were playing in some garden or the back field we always knew when we heard her whistle that not only was it time for the Lanes to go home but probably all of us too.
