Sincere sympathy to Mary, Jacintha & Liam on the passing of Betty. She was a force to be reckoned with and I will always remember her fondly for her work with the Rathdowney Review and the many times I called to her to collect photo's or obituary notices and always got a cup of tea too. No one was ever left out if she could help it and she travelled the length and breadth of the county to gather the information which we used in all of the many Reviews. Her own page 'The Betty O'Brien' column was also very important to her . Her legacy will live on, not just in her extended family but in all of the Rathdowney Reviews which have been bought and kept by so many people over the years. I'm sure she still has the notebook and pen on her now to continue her reporting in heaven and Mary can expect to be called upon again to send an email for inclusion in the next Review. May she rest in peace.
