Ethna our sincere sympathy to you,Mairead, and all your family and friends on the death of Bill. May his soul rest in peace.
I was so sorry to hear of Bill’s recent passing and send my heartfelt condolences to Mairéad and all the family.
I knew Bill as a colleague in DCU but more importantly remember him as an enthusiastic and accomplished set-dancer - I enjoyed dancing with him on many occasions over the years at céilís at St Joseph’s Rosmini and the Armada during the Willie Clancy week. Bill’s individual style was instantly recognisable on the dance floor and he brought a great sense of fun, exuberance and originality to his dancing as he did to his life in general. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
Mairead-
Sending you and all the Dorris family our deepest sympathy.
Bill was such a wonderful person - he had an amazing sense of fun and mischief and you were true soulmates. It was a real pleasure to know a person so warm, generous and witty. He was one of a kind.
Sincere condolences to Mairéad and all the family. I have very fond memories of Bill running the Ceílís. He was firm but kind in letting us know that if you didn't know your steps you should let those who knew stay on the floor and take a rest for yourself. He was a gentleman, fun and had a mischevious smile. Mairéad's baking was always something he promoted proudly too.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh d'anam.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh d'anam a chara.
Very sad to hear of Bill's death. Sincere condolences to Mairead from all of us.
A truly wonderful and intelligent man, much love from Bayside Writers' Group. May he rest in eternal peace
Fear uasal, cairdiúil, gealgháireach - chuir sé go mór leis an Ionad Buail Isteach in Connolly Books nuair a bhíodh sé ann. Comhbhrón ó chroí le Máiréad ach go háirithe.
Dear mairead, God broke the mold with Bill. He was such an asset in our writing grouo. Always adding a song or two, and good humour. I hope he got to see his brother. Greatful for our last visit, still smiling & singing....
Sincere condolences to Bill's family on the passing of a gentleman. Bill was very gracious to my parents when they used to meet in the Marine Hotel, Sutton. Always courteous and engaging. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
Comhbhrón óm chroí, a Mhaireaid. Suaimhneas síoraí do Bill.
So sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. Sincere condolences to Mareid and the extended family. Bill was a valued colleague who was well thought of by staff and students alike at the School of Communications in DCU. As a great lover of Irish culture, music and particularly Irish dance, it is perhaps fitting that this immigrant who made Ireland his home, should pass away on the feast of St Patrick -the most Irish of days. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
We grew up together, only a few houses apart. The child hood memories, thru high school are flooding back in. Bill had the brain of a genius and if he had been bigger, his athleticism would put in professional class. I am privileged to have known him at that phase of our lives. A man so well worth knowing...love ya Bill. Thanks for the memories.
My sincere sympathies on the passing of Bill. May he forever rest in peace.
Wonderful friend for 70 years, will be missed greatly by all of the many friends he has made over a lifetime.
Love❤️Josh & Carol

Our deepest sympathies to Máiréad and to Bill's wider family and friends. We will remember him for his sense of humour, his insightful quips, and his love and knowledge of music. He was (for Brian) a valued colleague and for both of us a friend whose company we always enjoyed.
It was always a joy to meet Bill and Mairéad at set dancing, he was full of fun and brightness, a gift of a man .
Dearest Mairead, Please know that we are here for you. You and Bill were like two peas in a pod, so great together. You took such good care of each other. Bill, you take care of her from above and Happy Trails sweet friend.
Tá an-bhrón orm cloisteáil faoi Bill. I knew him from the Bayside Pop Up.

Bill always seemed to have a great sense of fun about him, in his quiet manner.

Sincere sympathy to Mairead and all the family on the passing of a beloved and genial spirit whose company we all enjoyed in Olives tea rooms in the Park. He spread goodness wherever he went and can only enter into a new level of the same. RIP .
So sorry to hear of Bills passing. Condolences to Mairead and all family. May he rest in Peace.
So sad to hear this news & sending condolences to all the family especially Mairead. I was a student of Bill's in DCU - every lecture was a journey of adventure & fun, combined with deep insights and the odd political jibe at the powers that be. We met also in a set or two at the Pipers Club, and Willie Clancy over the years. One of a kind. Rest gently Bill.
My deepest condolences on the passing of bill . Thinking of Mairead at this sad time. Will miss our chats in the park .
Bill was a colleague of mine for many years at DCU. My dominant memory of him is laughing. Always quick to see the funny side of things. Condolences to Mairéad and to all who will miss him.
Deepest sympathy to Mairead on the sad passing of Bill thinking of you at this difficult time
Comhbhrón ó chroí leat, a Mhairéad. Fear chomh deas, cairdiúil, suimiúil, ba phribhléid a bhí ann bualadh leis agus caint leis i gCois Bá. Suaimhneas síoraí dó. Daire & Juergen
Comhbhrón ó chroí to Mairead and family, relatives and friends. It's so sad to learn of the passing of Bill. RIP. Níl sé imithe uainn ach romhainn. Solas na bhFlaitheas go raibh aige anois agus i gcónaí.
