So sorry to hear of Bill's death. Met him first in the early 60s when we went to my grandparents house on holidays. They were neighbours in Springfield. Had many a fun night in Springfield Castle with him.
Sincere sympathies with the Reidy family on the passing of Bill. I attended one of his kiddies GAA summer camps in Na Píarsaigh 1991, i remember him showing us the various skills of the game. He brought in limerick stars Brian Finn and Ger Hegarty who were giants to us, bill organised this and it was decades before the gaa cúl camps appeared. A gentleman and an inspirational teacher who commanded respect and decency. May he rest in peace 🙏

Sincere condolences to the Reidy family on the passing of Bill. Bill was a warm man who gave so much of himself to John F. Kennedy Memorial School. As Principal from 1996 to 2012, he put the children and the school community first.
Bill had time for everyone. He listened, he supported, and he led without fuss. Those who worked with him remember his steady reassurance and his genuine interest in people. Generations of pupils benefited from his care and guidance, and his influence is still felt in the school today, not least in the building he worked so hard to see become a reality.
Bill will be remembered with great affection and gratitude. May he rest in peace, and may his family take comfort in knowing how deeply he was respected
Staff, Board of Management and school community of John F Kennedy Memorial School

I was very fortunate to be a young recipient of Bills coaching knowledge as a young street leaguer in Na Piarsaigh. In the subsequent 12 years Bill was a constant on the sideline , in the dressing room and in Life. He was passionate , enthusiastic , generous and as a Teacher gifted in connecting one on one and ensuring we each got the benefit of his hurling wisdom. I can still remember the gravelly voice of encouragement from the sideline , or filling the dressing booming when he needed to. He was a great Club Man and we all got a piece of him and for that we thank his Family. My very happy memories of my many years. In Na Piarsaigh are punctuated with Bill Reidy throughout. We have lost many great Na Piarsaigh men in the last few years. I can only hope they are all gathered on a sideline somewhere above. They will enjoy seeing Bill again. Ar dheis de .

Our sincerest sympathies to Shelia, Bryan, Carol, Grace, David & Stephen on the sad passing of a loving husband and devoted father & grandfather. I first met Bill in September 1965 when we entered St. Pat's T.C. in Dumcondra and after graduation we were both appointed to the John F Kennedy Memorial School on the Ennis Road where we had classrooms side by side until I went to Christ the King Boys' School in Caherdavin. As a teacher Bill a profound and committed impactor of knowledge with a deep understanding of the needs of his pupils. For a P.E. class we took on each other's classes in full-blooded encounters in the school-yard. They were competitive contests but the rivalry was only between the classes. Why wouldn't a Newtown man accept a challenge!!
Bill was very popular as a student, a teacher, and also as principal. His passion in his first role is epitomised by his endeavours to get the Dept. of Education to give permission for the erection of a replacement new school. He achieved his goal before retirement. On the G.A.A. fields he achieved some notable successes. As a selector for the Limerick City under 16 hurling team I saw at first hand Bill's professionalism, dedication, his commitment, influence, how he impacted skills and developed attitudes. It was always great to meet Bill Reidy. He will be sorely and sadly missed. Ar dheis Lamh De go raibh a anam.
