Bill Walsh

Just a note to send my deepest and most heart-felt condolences to Louise, Nick, Clódagh, Sarah, Melissa and your entire family. I've been taking time since your dad's passing to remember all of the many (many!) wonderful experiences that I've had with your dad (and mom, and your entire family) which I feel so immensely grateful for. Your dad and mom were truly gifts to this world, and they've certainly had such a tremendously positive impact on so many people's lives, including mine. I have so many fond memories (many of which make me smile, and still make me laugh :) of the times I was able to spend with Bill and Enda and I feel so, so fortunate to have had them in my life. I hope you all are doing ok and sending lots of love a big hug to you all.

Bill always struck me as a gentleman. It was a beautiful funeral ceremony yesterday and highlighting a great life, well lived by Bill. May he rest in peace.

I loved meeting Bill over the years racing in the harbour, down west and on the Jersey trips.
Many memorable moments include foraging for mushrooms down west, sharing fresh cooked lobster aboard and Bill getting all the meat out of the legs by sucking on them, nothing was wasted!! Many hilarious trips come to mind messing around down west, with Bill, Enda and yourselves always nearby, the best fun and idyllic memories.

Your dad was an inspiration to me in sailing and how he was,never had the privilege to sail with him as my dad,John, and my uncles,expecially Ray Heff from the point,still to this day,he would have said best seamanship he ever was exposed to.
