Billy KANE

I was very sorry to hear of Billy's passing upon my return to Ireland. Words can't really express the loss he will be to the football community especially those of Rock Utd. We had so many great years together there but my first meeting with Billy was in Blackrock Post Office. I was there on cover from Glenageary.
I had the good fortune to play under Billy and then a couple of years later he was part of a victorious team I managed. He was a man I hugely respected and was a big figure in local football.
My condolences to the Family and Heaven has a great manager for their all star team. RIP Billy.

Billy was a true legend of the boro. Everyone knew him not only in the boro, but all over Dublin. He was a real winner, and you knew if Billy was in your team, you were likely to be successful. I played with Billy with booterstown, dalkey and rock, and in many 7 a sides. He was a great all round player and always gave 100%. I phoned him in June and we reminisced about the old days. He seemed in good form. He will be never be forgotten in the boro. May he rest in peace
