Billy Larkin

We heard just recently of Billy's passing. We were deeply shocked at the news.
It was our pleasure to have known him as a student of our college from 2018-'19. He was held in high regard by both his classmates and the College staff. Billy excelled and was awarded full Distinctions. Sadly he was taken too soon. May he rest in peace.

I had the great joy of working alongside Billy in 2016. A memorable experience in so many ways. The world is a poorer place without him in it.

I knew Billy for only a short time biut in that time I found him to be a wonderful man always smiling helpful and caring to everyone. He never had a bad word to say about anyone, truly an exceptional man. My condolences to all his family you have lost a beautiful soul.who truly made the world a better place

Billy Larkin came to Colaiste Ida ( Finglas college) in 2019 as a mature student studying a professional qualification in Health Care management-
As one of his tutors I had the pleasure of him sharing his life experience as he tackled the academic demands of a full on course. Billy excelled in every area of the course but perhaps his biggest success and contribution was his availability to other students- simply the kindest genuine and friendliest person in the group. He brought a questioning mind, humour reality and gentleness to his lectures.
His success, while on practice placement, reflected in the received reports where not surprising- Distinctions after Distinction. Billy Graduated with a qualification in health care management.
He revealed to me later he never wanted to be a manager more a carer doing the job rather than supervising.
We at the college are shocked that a fine exemplary person that Billy is should be taken so young -

May I express my deepest condolences to Margaret and Billy’s family at this sad time.Billy was a wonderful man, a kind soul, a beautiful voice with a sweet generous inner light. He was a fine actor who bravely played the role of King Olav in our musical premiere Forkbeard &Olav in 2016, bringing his beautiful voice, and magnetic presence to the stage. He wrote beautiful songs too! And helped me with several tricky studio tasks from a distance. RIP Billy. I trust that you will making sweet music for all the other saints and Angels in heaven. .

We're all so very sorry to hear about the passing of Billy. Our families grew up together as next door neighbours on St. Donagh's Road. He was a lovely person, great friends with our eldest brother Noel, they were two avid Leeds Utd. supporters back in the day. He was also a great musician. We have very fond memories of listening to him singing and rehearsing for Winters Reign, the soundtrack of our Summers back in the 80's, he was even the entertainment for my christening so I'm told!
