We send you our condolences following Billy's death last Friday. He was such a gentle soul and a very fine man. We are sorry that we could not be with you for his funeral Mass, but we were pleased to be present by way of the video link. For this, many thanks.
We first met Billy when he and Mary came on a family visit to Edinburgh. Evelyn, Lorraine and Rowena were all over here. Evelyn had met our son Paul when she was working in the fashion department of the John Lewis Edinburgh store. We all had a great get-together in our home.
Fast forward to the Granville Hotel, Waterford, when we met again on the eve of Evelyn and Paul's wedding in the Cathedral. That was the start of many good times and blessings, including three of our granddaughters, Niamh, Emily and Natalie, whom we share with Billy and Mary.
It has been a great pleasure and a privilege to have known Billy and spend time with him and the family that he and Mary took such care in raising. We add our prayers to those of others, that his gentle soul will rest in peace.
