We are all going to miss Billy Young so much. He was a smasher at football, family and friendship. Everything. I had the greatest pleasure of knowing Billy since i was 18 years old. I played for him with Bohs for 9 years.
He thought me so much i have such respect for him as a manager and the man he was.

Sincere sympathy to all in the Young family. When I was a teenage Bohs fan in the mid 80s, a friend I used to go to the matches with spotted Billy in our school. He could not have been more generous with the time he afforded two excited kids. Billy Young, gentleman, RIP.

Deepest sympathy to all of the Young family at this very sad time of Billy's passing. I first saw Billy as a player with Bohs in the early / mid 60's and later as manager / coach who made a lasting contribution not just to Bohs but to Irish football. I later had the pleasure of working with him on the football coaching course in Sportslink in Santry and learned so much from him then and over the years that followed. He shared his knowledge in a calm gentlemanly way and his contribution to Irish football is without equal. Rest in peace Billy.

I signed for Bohs in 1976/77 season and Billy not only had alot to do for me as a player, he was who I looked up to as a Coach, for me he was so good. before his time I reckon, I went on to have a great career not only as a player but also as a Manager/Coach. I modelled myselef on Billy his professional approach to training and match day, he also had a part in getting me my first player coach/ manager's role, as he turned down Galway United FC for the manager role and Recommended me instead for my first job, they gave me the job and we won the FAI Cup, Billy new what he was doing.
I owe him so much.
