Deepest condolences to the McCarthy family. Always remember Blossom as happy and full of life, and she made us feel so much at home whenever we visited. Our mother Dilly really looked forward so much to meeting up with Blossom for a good catch up session or a trip to an auction, they got along so well. Rest in peace Blossom.

Blossom was a very special person, she made us feel so welcome when we stayed at her beautiful home many years ago. There were many stories regaled at that time of all the characters they grew up with and all of the fun they shared. Thank you Blossom for your visits down through the years, you bought a piece of home to us. May Blossom rest in peace and may your family find comfort in the knowledge Blossom had a happy fulfilled life.

I remember spending time in Bridge House when I was in Secondary school with Niamh, many moons ago! Paddy and Blossom were a great couple and the the house was always a lively, busy place full of joy and love! They are now together again. Ar dheis De go raibh a h-anam dilis.

Blossom was a childhood friend of my mother (Sheila) while living in Athleague. She became my friend when she wrote (and wrote often) following Mom's passing.
I cherish those letters and the memory of my visits to a warm, kind lady.

Her death brings back memories of more gentle times when Paddy Tobin, her father, presided benignly over security and his family was an integral part of life in Murroe. Blossom had style and in her time was Murroe’s answer to Hollywood beauty and elegance. She never forgot Murroe and went on all her life sharing photographs and memories of old Murroe and keeping in touch while she could.

Rest in peace, Blossom, along with Gregory, Paddy, Dermot, Deirdre and with your husband, Paddy, who was surely one of the most modest and enlightened educators of his time.
