Bobby helped Gerry (O'Hare) and I (Kinsealy) in the mid-1980s, when we hadn't a bean, to fix up our home in Connolly Avenue. He advised us what materials we would need to re-lay our broken sewage pipes, helped us knock down an ancient out-house and became our good friend for many years. He was the epitome of a gentleman, kind and generous with his time and advice.

So sorry to hear this. Bobby was part of my childhood growing up in Carrickhill. We spent many happy hours on his tractor and 'helping' to make haycocks when he worked at McDowells. Condolences to his family.

My childhood was filled with fond memories, and stories of my great uncle Bobby and our family in Malahide. Although I don't have many personal memories from my childhood, with us living across the water, and only seeing you on occasions, I feel blessed to have met you in recent years and being able to know you as the adult I am now, and was so proud to introduce you to the boy named after you the 3rd Bobby Brown. Your name, and memory will live on, for many years to come!

I got to know Bobby through my Granny Josie, I worked in Dunnes in Portmarnock and we had the chats daily as he was doing his shopping for all of his neighbours. He knew I was going to America on my holidays and I'll never forget he dropped me in a few dollars in an envelope for my trip. He was the kindest man with the biggest warming smile. He was a great friend to my granny Josie ❤️.

Rest easy up there Muckser, I hold very fond memories of you from my childhood, be it staying with you on our jollys to Malahide or when you came over to visit us in the UK.

Robert, Bobby, Bob . No matter which name you were known as you were always known by everyone on the Hill as the funny , kind and caring man who looked out for everyone. May it be helping them open and close the hilltop , helping with your neighbours gardens, offering your support to others with a warm smile meant the most to all. From the young kids to grown ups you had time for everyone as did we all for you. You were never far without your bike and always had a rhyme to sing.

The friendship you built with the Firzpatricks which in turn ended up with you been part of their family was known by all.

Ciara my deepest condolences to you as without your kindness and care over the years but most importantly in the last number of years Bobby would have not reached the grand age of 91. The love he had for you was unwavering as you became like a daughter to him. Mason lit up the nursing home with not only Bobby but the other residents looking forward to his visits.

Condolences to Ciara , Audrey and family. Ciara you were a daughter to Bobby and he spoke so highly of you. Bobby was a friend to everyone and always looked after me and my daughter weather it was doing our garden , running around to blow out the candles I forgot or dropping yoghurts on the door step for Amy , I have many fond memories of Bobby and enjoyed our cups of tea and chats.

Bobby was a long time associate of the McDowell family when we ran a commercial farm at Wheatfield. He was always available to help with whatever task was foremost at the time, even at weekends, and was dedicated to getting the job done. Commiserations to his extended family.

Reading these condolences gave me great enjoyment.
What a gentleman Bobby seems to have been, and cared for very well by Ciara and her friends.
It restores faith in humanity to see the deep mutual love between Bobby and his neighbours.

Bobby our dear neighbour and friend an absolute gentleman he was adored by all who knew him generation after generation he’s seen it all on the villas kids he watched grow have their own kids he was always there for the chats and advice with his gardening tips
One of my daughters came in from the garden one day eating an ice cream that Bobby had given in through the hedge I went out and said ah Bobby don’t be wasting your money on the kids his response was simple I did it for you when you were a child and now I’m doing it for your child and he asked me was I jealous and off he went with a laugh we will miss him so much
Ciara and Audrey you were like daughters to him and he was so proud of you both

My sincere condolences. Bobby was the greatest neighbour on St Sylvester’s Villas. I’ve know Bobby since I was a little girl living on the villas. You always walked by and Bobby would be standing at his gate with his great big smile and saying hello to everyone. He will be sorely missed by all his neighbours , friends and family. Condolences to Bobby’s nieces and nephews and to his fantastic Bawn and Hill neighbours who loved, cared and looked out for Bobby over the years.

He was particularly fond of the Fitzpatrick family whom he considered family rather than neighbours - Bobby often told me how lucky he was to have them in his life with Ciara and Audrey getting frequent mentions in our conversations in recent years.

RIP Bobby on a life well lived and for being such a good pal to many. I’m sure your partner in crime Bobby ‘Craic’ Nugent will be part of the welcoming committee at the pearly gates!

So sad to hear of Bobby's passing. From the moment we moved into Sylvester's he was a great neighbour & so kind to the kids. We had some great chats about old Malahide and got to know him and his sense of humour pretty quickly- so glad we spent the time with him he was a great man and will be greatly missed.
