Heartfelt sympathy to Mrs. Burke, Sinéad, Robert, Andrew, Ronan, Ultan and the extended Burke family on the death of your beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Bobby (RIP).

I have fond memories of attending Scoil Chríost Rí. Mr. Burke was a wonderful teacher, storyteller and singer. As a young child I thought he was Cloughleigh’s answer to the Irish Tenor, Frank Patterson. He was good humoured and always had a kind and encouraging word for his students.

In recent years my daughter enjoyed his annual visits to Stonehall. He and Mrs. Burke delighted students when they took on the role of Santa and Mrs. Claus.

So sad to hear of the passing of Mr Burke. Have such fond memories of him from Scoil Chriost Ri. I remember meeting him in town one day (I was around 20 at the time) and he still remembered my name from being my primary school principal. An amazing teacher and principal and a true gentleman.
