Deepest sympathies to John & Maura, Denis & Noreen, Ollie & Lily & families on Dan's passing. Dan was an exceptional person and left his mark everywhere he stayed. I had the good fortune to have met him for the first time in Scoil Ailbhe, Thurles in 1967 where he started a tin whistle band in his class. They performed at the Christmas concert that year. He also co-composed a musical "An Rí a bhí breoite" which was a huge hit with all who saw it. We went through the script of it a few weeks before his passing, and Dan identified with it in spite of his very ill health. Aireoidh mé uaim cairdeas agus comhluadar Dan agus na comhráití a bhíodh againn. Tá sé ar a shuaimhneas anois lena thuismitheoirí sna Flaithis. Níl sa mhúchadh coinnle ach breacadh an lae. My deepest condolences to Denis, John, Ollie, Dan’s confreres in the Christian Brothers and to his extended family and friends. Dan was a pleasure to work with and great addition to St. Helen’s Education Office.

Condolences on the passing of Dan to all the Healy family in particular, his brothers John, Dennis and Ollie.

I was extremely fond of Dan, he always made time to talk to me whenever I saw him. He always showed an interest in my education and work.

One particularly memory was when Dan visited for my 30th Birthday. He danced the night away like no one was watching. On the way back to the airport he thanked me for giving him a window into my world which I thought was lovely.

So many happy memories of summer holidays in Kilbrittain and Carrigtwohill with Denis and Ollie when Dan would look after us. He would always remain calm and kind even though we gave him a hard time.

His kindness and hospitality towards us and our children was always apparent.

In later years he was a source great of counsel and understanding in helping me come to terms with my early years and later sharing our experiences with Parkinsons.

A truly wonderful Cousin. May You Rest in Peace Br Dan.

On behalf of my wife Sheila and myself, I extend sincere sympathy to the Healy family on the death of Dan, a man of deep faith who devoted his life to God and to the service of others. Dan and I became friends in 1984 when we studied in UCC for the Career Guidance Counsellor qualification.

Dan was an erudite and learned man who made a huge impact in his professional role, giving generations of young people the benefit of his extensive knowledge and expertise with "empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard.". Dan had a wonderful sense of humour. He laughed a lot, was great company but never took himself too seriously.

We loved getting together when time allowed. His phone calls, cards and emails were a joy to receive. Dan carried his native Cork in his heart wherever life’s journey took him. He was forever loyal to his vocation as a Christian Brother and was ready, willing and able to serve wherever he was assigned whether it be The Mon, The Abbey, Sexton Street, Falls Road or Argentina.

Dan’s was a life well lived. He loved his sport, football and especially hurling and he would talk forever about the glorious exploits of “the blood and the bandage.” He accomplished a great deal during his life. He graciously accepted his failure to instructed a clumsy Kerry man in the skills of hurling below in The Mardyke!

Slán leat Dan, a chara. May the green sod of your beloved Carrigtwohill rest lightly on your gentle soul agus ar dhéis Dé go raibh d’anam dílis.
