Sincere sympathy and condolences to all of Brother Jim’s family, friends and the Christian Brother community. Brother Jim was a very great friend to my own late mother ( his cousin Lillian). He attended my daughter’s communion a few years ago and I’m so lucky to have recorded him singing Come back Paddy Reilly to Ballyjamesduff, along with his brother and cousins.Testament to his artistic flair, a piece of his art hangs in our home. He had such talent and a wonderful way with words and kindness.
His last selfless act of donating his body to medical science is the embodiment of his truly altruistic nature.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilís.
Ní bheidh do leithéid arís ann.

My condolences to the Dunne family on the passing of Brother Jim, a genuine and competent educator. His words of advice and guidance to me, and with no doubt to many others are still valued even today. Rest In Pease Brother. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
My deepest sympathies to the Dunne family on the passing of Br Jim. May he rest in eternal peace.
Comhbhrón ó chroí le clann uilig Jim. Go gcúití Dia a shaothar is a shaol dó.
My deepest sympathies to all Jim's family and friends.
Jim was a colleague in CBC Monkstown in Dublin in the 1990s.
His kindness, gentleness, and incredible patience made him a much loved member of the CBC community. Jim always saw the best in people - both students and teachers alike - which made him a most highly regarded and respected teacher and colleague.
His generous spirit is exemplied by his final supreme gift of his body to medical science.
A truly remarkable man.
May he Rest in Peace.

R.I.P
I had the pleasure of working with Jim at CBC Monkstown about 30 years ago. I think he may have been the last Christian Brother on the teaching staff.
It is no exaggeration to say that Jim was beloved by everyone - pupils and staff. Teenagers have a great capacity to appreciate a truly authentic person. Jim won the students' respect and affection by his wise counsel, gentle demeanour and genuine commitment to their welfare.
As for his colleagues, Jim's benign presence was a calming influence as he demonstrated by his words and actions what is really important in education. He was greatly respected and loved.
The visible sign of Jim's presence in Monkstown is the wonderful stained glass window he created for the Prayer Room.
The invisible signs of his presence are the positive influences he had on both teachers and students.
As Principal I found him a thoughtful, generous and supportive colleague. I treasure his memory.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.
