I was very sorry to hear of the death of Br.Tobin. He was always very considerate of others and it was a pleasure to have worked with him both as a student in Tralee , C.B.S and later as a teacher in Athy ,C.B.S . Sincere sympathy to all his family and to the Christian Brothers community.

I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Br Tobin. He was a great man who made a major contribution to CBS James's St and to the wider community. He was a pioneer of IT and computer training and his after school classes helped many students and parents find rewarding careers. He was a great friend and supporter of the school even after retiring. He is fondly remembered by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

Deepest sympathy to the Tobin family and also the Christian Brothers Community on the death of Br Tobin.I was lucky to have him as my teacher in both primary and secondary school in Tralee. He was very well respected by all during his time in Tralee . Very often mentioned as he guided The Green to its first Frewen Cup in 33 years in 1968/69. We took great pleasure in beating Criost Ri in the final in Killarney . I met him on a few occasions since and met him
for the last time at Christy Conways funeral. He was a pure gentleman at all times. May he Rest in peace

Very sorry to hear of Brother Tobin's passing. My sympathy to all of the Tobin family. As a raw and frightened 13 year old being the only one entering Athy C.B.S. from a country school in 1977 I'll always remember how warm and friendly Brother Tobin was . Thanks for being a very fair principal and helping shape a lot of our lives .R.I.P.

I was blessed to have him as the principal in my time as a student in Athy CBS where he introduced great initiatives in both learning and sport. He was responsible for the building and equipping of a school library and the introduction of a 3 year leaving cert option as well as cross country and athletics alongside continued promotion of gaa teams at the school. A man of immense energy and vision and did it all with a smile ( and the odd cigarette !! ). May he rest in peace,

Here in Tralee, where he taught in both Primary and Secondary school, his memory is still revered, many years hence, as a great Christian Brother, an outstanding compassionate teacher and a champion of all and especially those who struggled. I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Brother Tobin. He was a lovely man who gave so much to me as a pupil in Jamebo. One of the many men in James' St who gave great educational opportunity to the boys in his care and he is always remembered with fondness and gratitude by me and so many of my former classmates. I'll always remember his encouragement and genuine kindness in lots of different ways. We are lucky to have men like him in our lives and I try and follow his example in so many ways as a teacher myself.

Brother Tobin was an inspiration to me. He introduced every sport in Athy CBS
GAA , track and field and especially cross country running. He was the most influential person in my upbringing. Never will forget him. I always mention him in my life for the past 40 years. I really loved him as a person and respected him so much

A gentle, gentle man. He saw the good in everybody and was totally dedicated to Jambo.
He even taught some of the staff how to use a computer, including myself.

Sincerest sympathy to the Family and Community of Brother Tobin. He was a very exceptional individual who, at all times, lived and exampled the Christian values of his Community. So many people benefited from his concern for the welfare of others and his kindness impacted on the lives of so many. Sometimes you meet someone who you know is such a good person that you want to be as good as them. Bro. Tobin was that man. He never gave up on any student and he could always see the good in all. He's a one off. A worthy successor to Edmund Rice. I feel lucky to have met him and was privileged to teach with him in James's St CBS.

I got to know Br Paul during my many visits to St Helen’s in Dun Laoghaire when Paul was in residence with my uncle Br Mark McDonnell.

Paul was a wonderful friend and confidant to my uncle down through the years. He loved to visit Tralee where he taught in both the brothers Primary and Secondary Schools and meet up with.his many friends and ex pupils, several of whom wore the green and gold of Kerry.especially Sheila Conway to whom he was such a wonderful friend.

May Paul’s gentle and kind soul rest in the peace of the Glen of Aherlow a place he loved so well.
