Thar ceann phobal na scoile glacaim comhbhrón ar Bhráithre na Toirbhirte agus ar chlann Thomáis as a bhás. Ba cheann de bhunaitheoirí Choláiste an Spioraid Naoimh é Tomás agus d'fhág sé a rian ar an scoil. Suaimhneas síoraí dó agus go ndéana Dia Trócaire ar a anam.
Sincere sympathy to the Canning family on the death of Brother Thomas and to his Presentation Brothers family.
He was a founder member of Colaiste an Spioraid Naoimh ,Bishopstown ,Cork ,a Presentation Brothers school ,in the early sixties. He was a dedicated teacher and he participated whole heartedly in the development of an extracurricular programme. Many of his early students remember him with great regard and fondness.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Deepest sympathies to Br Tom's family and his community.
Held in high esteem by his friends and colleagues in the People's Park, we mourn his passing and will miss him greatly. The shared stories of life's experiences, poetry, music and dance, his bright personality and good humour are treasured memories.
Meeting him only in recent years has been our good fortune. To quote one of our group, Tom was the 'epitome of goodness'.

Tom was a regular at our café for many years, always arriving with the brightest smile. When his coffee was dropped to him, he never failed to say, ‘thank you kindly.’ A true gentleman, he will be dearly missed by his café friends, and anybody who was lucky enough to meet him. 💞

I am so sad to hear of Tom's death. I first met Tom in 1965 shortly after my late husband Michael and I were married. They had been next door neighbours in their youth. Tom was a true friend, he always kept contact. May he rest in peace.
