Comhbhrón ó chroí le Muintir Tony agus na bráithre.

Br Tony was a gentle and kind man who had understanding on how rural development would improve the lives of farmers, their families and the wider community. He always worked to improve and make people's lives better - he lived the word of God.
It was a pleasure to know him as a member of the first course of Agri Business which Br Tony designed and created and to his credit is still part of the ATU's curriculum.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dhílis.

I was shocked and saddened to learn from Br. Sean Conway on Oct 4th of Br. Tony’s passing and gutted that I was out of the country and wouldn’t make his reposing or funeral. My deepest condolences to Tony’s brothers and sisters and the extended Dolan family, to his cousin, Br. Peter, and all of Tony’s Franciscan confrères in Ireland, Kenya, Uganda and California.

I first met ‘Todd’, a fellow Leitrimite, exactly 60 years ago and he was then and throughout his life one of the nicest, kindest, gentlest and genuine human beings one could ever hope to meet. While he may have been a giant on the football field Tony became an absolute colossus in his life achievements. His commitment to and promotion of Sustainable Agriculture for Rural Development will empower farming communities in Kenya, Uganda and South Sudan for generations to come. The world truly has been a much better place wherever Tony touched it.

An exemplary Franciscan, Tony wasn't just everything the man from Assisi envisioned all those years ago, but so much Francis could never have imagined or dreamed of! And Tony was also a son of the soil who never forgot his rural roots. So, now, may the clay of your beloved Mountbellew rest lightly on you Tony as Mother Earth caresses you to her bosom. It was indeed a privilege to have known you. Tá mé fíor-chinnte go bhfuil solas na bhflaitheas buaite agat. Suaimhneas síorraí ar do anam uasal dílis. Slán a chara!

I was one of the four priests from the Diocese of Ardagh and Clonmacnois who was commissioned by our Bishop at the time Cathal B. Daly to work in Zambia.
On our way to Zambia, we stopped over in Nairobi to visit the Kiltegan House there. While we were there, we went North to visit some of the Missions, one of which was Brother Tony Dolan’s. We saw first hand the wonderful work that Tony along with his colleagues were doing in the area of Agriculture in consultation with the local people.

You are in our thoughts at this very sad time.
I first met Br Tony in 1993, and I worked at Baraka Agricultural college under Br Tony’s leadership from 1994 to 1995 and again from 2000 to 2008. The college flourished under Br Tony’s direction. Baraka was like one big family where every staff member was supported to give their best. His door was always open to everyone no matter who they were when support, encouragement and guidance was needed. There were always people waiting to see Br Tony – he never got annoyed or turned anyone away – he always did his best to listen and help where he could.
Moving to Uganda, Br Tony set up Adraa Agricultural College a huge achievement – transforming an empty site into a flourishing college. On his visits back to Ireland, he always took time to come and see us, sharing stories about his work and updates on our friends back in Kenya.
My wife Jane and I, who both worked at Baraka, have lost a dear friend – someone we could always turn to for advice and support. He will also be deeply missed by our three sons, who have fond memories of him from their childhood.
Rest in peace Br Tony. You touched many lives and left an enduring legacy.
