Goodbye Auntie Breda,

You were always there for us when we were kids with little sweets, smiles and hugs. Sorry for pulling up all the sides of your carpet when I was 9 because I thought there were coins under the carpet. I still remember your face which was a mixture of anger and compassion. LOL. You were so patient and kind to all of us kids. I don't think we could have asked for a better aunt, someone who was always there for us and gave so much of her free time. You have been a part of our lives from the beginning to the end. We will remember you in our prayers and I will never forget all my fond memories of you.

Sincere sympathy to all the family on the sad passing of Breda.My mother Nellie Lordan was a first cousin of Breda's and I have fond memories of meeting her and Jerry in Nedineagh with my parents many years ago.Thinking of and praying for you all at this difficult time.May Breda's gentle soul rest in eternal peace.

I recently spent time with my aunt over the bank holiday celebrating St. Bridget, as well as Valentine's week. We shared many a memory of her previous house as well as the one on the Lough. Going to spend a weekend in town with her, was a treat not be be missed by my siblings and I. She loved having "young company" in her house whether it was us, or the students from UCC that stayed with her.
She was always happy to see you when you visited and always had tea and biscuits ready. She was always kind to us, her nieces and nephews, and later to their children. She will be sorely missed by her entire family.

All my condolences to Breda’s family and friends over her passing. I’ve been so saddened by this news.
Breda was like a second mum to me when I came from France as a student in UCC and stayed with her and my friend Caroline at her house by the Lough.
Being from Quéven in Brittany, a town twinned with Dunmanway, we both saw it as a sign that we were destined to meet.
Breda was always there for us, looking after us.
She welcomed my friends and family who came to see me in Cork with such warmth and generosity that she became a real family friend.
I remember my Mum and her buying plants and doing some gardening together over Easter 1996, both having great fun arranging Breda’s charming little garden.
We remained very close over the years and despite the distance. I always tried to pay her visit on my trips to Cork, with my partner Bernard and our children when they arrived. She was always so happy to see us, and so kind and generous to us.
We will always remember her dearly and miss her sadly. I will be thinking of her and will regret not being able to call to see her, share a cup of tea and have a little chat when I bring my children around the Lough.
May her lovely and gentle soul rest in peace.

I am so sorry for your loss at this sad time. Breda was my mother's greatest friend and an auntie to us all growing up. She never failed to bring joy, laughter and happiness to us all and was a true friend. She shared so many wonderful memories of my parents with me through the years after they had passed. A special, kind and gentle woman, she was a wonderful role model and friend. May you rest in peace Bríd.

Breda, you will be missed by so many. She was the first person that I met when Jerry took me to Ireland almost 30 years ago. She was so welcoming, warm and cheerful then and even with her recent health struggles, she remained the same. She was an important part of so many peoples lives from her siblings to her nieces and nephews to the students that stayed with her and to her friends even neighbors. Her door was always open to have a cup of tea and to look onto her beautiful garden and have a chat. We are so sad as to not be there physically to mourn her passing but her beautiful soul and the impact she made on our lives will not be forgotten.
