BRENDA LONERGAN

Rosie, Aiden and all of her many friends my deepest sympathy to ye all. I only just found out. I only spoke with Brenda at length back in August. Such a wonderful catch up over voice notes. Few laughs and a few tears. I was told all about ye and what a huge part of her life ye all were. I was always mad about her but circumstances had us not speaking for years to which I’m very sad about. And more saddened I didn’t get to meet up with her like we spoke about in our chats. My dad was always mad about her too making me like her even more. She told me my dad was like a parent to her and I was happy to share him as he was wonderful. She passed just before his birthday on the 17th so hopefully they are looking after each other now and had a lovely celebration together after all this time apart. Much love to ye all.

I hope she’s dancing her socks off without an ounce of pain. She was such a bright light in this world. In spite of the immense amount of pain and suffering she lived with, Brenda never once became bitter towards others. If there was one person you could trust to speak up for what was right, it was her.

Brenda girl: you mattered so so much. I know fine well that there’s a pub in heaven filled with friendly faces (I know how much you missed them) buying you a tipple.

I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the Longergan family on the passing of Brenda. I was in class with her older sister Rosemary during our Grange days, and we shared a lovely friendship. Through that connection, I had the pleasure of sharing some special memories with Brenda.

Brenda and I were later classmates ourselves for a year. She was truly delightful, full of warmth, personality, and presence.

I am thinking especially of Rosemary and of all of Brenda’s family at this very difficult time. May Brenda rest in peace.

To the Lonergan family, I want to express my sincere condolences to you following the sad passing of Brenda. Although our paths have gone in different directions and I lost contact with Brenda over the years, I hold onto brilliant memories of Brenda when we were younger. Brenda was in my class in school and she was the centre of attention and a joy to be around. My best friend Ewen and I were fortunate to befriend the Lonergan sisters in primary school and really enjoyed their company and friendship as kids. May Brenda rest in peace and free from pain.
