We were so shocked and saddened to hear of the untimely death of Brenda. She was truly a remarkable woman, warm, kind, bubbly, forever smiling, someone who always looked on the positive side of life. When she was a parent in the DSPNS she could always be relied upon to assist in whatever way she could. Nothing was too much of a problem for her. I always knew that I could call on her, even in a last minute emergency and she would be there smiling at the door with her positive "can do" attitude.

Brenda and I met in May ‘69 when we started our Nursing Training. I was blessed to have the room next to her in the Nurses Home where I lived so happily, surrounded by Irish voices and friends. Brenda’s presence and “Joie de Vive” always lit up a room and it was always a better day for seeing her.
Eastbourne Tennis Week and our yearly reunions will never be the same but we will meet and remember happy times and absent friends.

Dearest Brenda has left us far too soon, we are consumed by sadness at the loss of our Bonny Irish Lass ,Smiling & Beguiling one.
We first met 56 years ago to commence our Student Nurse training,I was always trying to escape back to Ireland ,but Brenda was focused & persevered !
She used to say every year at our Yearly Tennis Joyful Rendezvous so “you’re still here Mary & I returned to Dublin”!!where she met & married her beloved Brian & the rest is history.
Our Tennis week was full of fun ,it will never be the same without you .

Truly saddened to read her death notice.We met in the DSP and again in Vincents.She was one of those people you came away from meeting feeling better or laughing .Have fond memories of her warm menagerie full of exotic animals and plants.She did a lot of good work helping people.

I was a fellow trainee nurse with Brenda at Eastbourne hospitals . She lit up a room then as she still did when I met her again just over a year ago. Her warm effervescent personality will be sorely missed but what a blessing it has been to know her.
