It was with much sadness that we heard of Brendan's passing to his eternal reward.
As a valued work colleague in Telecom Eireann he was always very pleasant and most helpful and a true gentleman who brought much joy to our lives.

RIP Brendan! Absolute gentleman; when I was younger we used to foot turf for families in Derrygeel bog. On one occasion, we went out to foot our own bog and footed it perfect all in one day. That evening, at home, chatting to Jimmy Fallon, it turned out we footed the wrong bank of turf! We ended up footing all of Brendan's bank! I rang him straight away and told him our mistake and he replied "sure that's great news; I don't have to it meself.." Brendan called up to our house in Lismacmanus the next day to pay us for our mishap. An absolute gentleman. Condolences to all the Bannon family.

It’s many years since I met Brendan and Eithne. The last time I met them was at Peter’s funeral. I was very sad to get the phone call from Grainne Bannon telling me about his death. I remember Brendan as such a kind man, and himself and Eithne had a warm and welcoming home. I know he will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace.
