Our sincere Sympathies to Barbara and family, from Austin and Caroline and we often think of the day Barba called by with Dr. Michael Foley, Gynaecologist in Holles Street hospital when our Fourth boy was born in 1997 , and then to meet Brendan, who we soon discovered was really capable, when doing C-Sections on cows and difficult calving’s , and always good humoured and very interesting to chat with, and he told me about his brother working for Powerscreen , a company that I remembered from the early1970’s. Brendan was just so well liked by everyone
Wishing you comfort and strength Barbara, Joe, James, Conor and Mark at this heartbreaking time. Brendan enriched our college life with his good humour and kindness to others. We were so blessed to have had him as a friend.

I first met Brendan back almost 30 years ago at a Med Ball, the first of many he came to with Barbara. It was obvious from the start that he and Barbara were made for each other.
I have been so lucky since then to have gotten to know Brendan better, when Barbara and I worked together up in Newry and in latter years since they came to live in Wexford.
He was a wonderful man, kind, generous, always welcoming and a great sense of humour. Such a gentle soul.
He will be greatly missed by all who met him. I think it a great privilege to have had this opportunity.
Barbara, Joe, James, Conor and Mark, our thoughts are with you and with all the Dooley and Barrett families during this saddest of times. I am truly heartbroken for you.
Brendan, thanks for all the good memories.
Lots of love,
Barbara, sincere condolences to you and the children. Thinking of you ans sending all our best wishes all this time. May Brendan rest in peace.
Out sincere sympathies to you Barbara and your lovely boys Joe James Conor and Mark on the sad passing of your loving husband Brendan may his soul rest in peace
I was in college with Brendan from 1990-1994, we were friends and neighbours. Our two student houses were sort of like an Irish version of “Friends” except with Glenroe and a creamy pint in McCarthys instead of Central Perk. Brendan was unwaveringly lovely, kind and decent. Great craic, his dry wit and warmth made him a wonderful friend. He was incredibly smart, these were pre internet days, if I was stuck with some difficult study I didn’t need Google when I had Brendan. I remember when he first met Barbara, it was as if he was lit up from within. The love they had for each other was so special and beautiful, even back then you could see they were meant to be.
My deepest condolences to Barbara, Joe, James, Mark and Conor, to the Barrett and Dooley family and to his veterinary family, colleagues and clients.
Deepest condolences to Brendan’s family and friends and all at the practice. I was so shocked and sad to hear the news after seeing him so recently. He was such a lovely man and the kindest vet. He looked after my dogs and cat with such care and attention. Always had a witty and kind word to say. Rest in peace. Róisín - Wicklow Town

to the animals in this life.
My sincere sympathy to his wife, children and his family and all his colleagues in Gorey Veterinary hospital.
He will be sorely missed.
I had the privilege of getting to know Brendan in our shared time in UCD. There was ever the witty retort but always without malice , a keen intellect but never boastful, forthright opinions but neither unkind nor judgemental. He was the epitome of the gentility of a bygone age , a good and decent Ulster man.
The world is the lesser for the loss of such a man as he .
I will pray The Lord bless you and your boys, Barbara , and give you the strength to face this dreadful trial.
Our deepest sympathy to Anne and the Barrett family on the untimely passing of Brendan, may he rest in peace.
