Growing up down the road from Brendan, I always admired him - not just as my best friend's dad but as a legend between the goalposts. Brendan taught us more than just football he showed us how to value happiness over money. As I walk past 139 Hillside, it's his laughter and shouts from the games we used to play on the street that I miss the most.
