So very saddened to hear of Brendan's sudden passing. I had the pleasure of working with Brendan for a number of years in the WHB amd HSE. A scholar and a (dapper) gentleman. Always so supportive, encouraging, thoughtful and kind. Always professional and committed with a clear focus on justice and fairness. At the same time he had a great sense of humour. Above all he was a true gentleman & a gentle man. Such a loss to us all but especially you Della & your family.

My sincere sympathy to the Naughton family on the sad loss of Brendan. I first met Brendan in the early nineties when we studied for a four year evening degree. Needless to say he flew through the Course. We remained in contact over the next thirty plus years. That says enough. He was a very special person, kind, intelligent and great company. I am very glad to have known him. I know that you will miss him greatly from your lives. May he rest in peace.

Brendan was our neighbour for many years in murrough drive growing up. I have lovely memories of him coming home from work with his bag as a child, swinging on the swing in his garage, he was always a kind and gentle man to me. My dad would have a chat by the fence and mum wld always have a good gas bag with both Brendan and Della. To all the Naughtons, I want you to know that I’m thinking of you all at this very sad time. Your dad was a gentleman and a lovely neighbour for many years. To practically Niamh and Johnny who were my friends growing up, mind yourselves. It was with huge shock and sadness that I learned of Brendan's passing. I knew him as a colleague, neighbour, quiz team mate and friend. He was always willing to share his vast knowledge and wisdom and would go to any lengths to help somebody out. He was also known for his sharp wit and sense of humour. A thorough gentleman is gone from this world.
