I am very sad to learn that Brendan Devlin has died.
On reading the condolences of my former and current County Council colleagues the two repeated sentiments are Brendan’s gentleness and his huge ability.
I had the pleasure of working closely with Brendan when I was posted to Annabella in Mallow in the mid 80’s and he was always very supportive and helpful and I admired him hugely.

Dear Vera I would like to express my sincere sympathy to you and your family on Brendan's recent death. Unfortunately as you know I was unable to attend his funeral I have however some happy memories of our time spent in Pres , the County Hall and retired staff functions of Cork County Council. May he rest in peace.

I worked with Brendan at a distance in West Cork for many years and it was great to be guided by such a steady hand. He was a role model for all us engineers but most of all he was a thorough gentleman. My sincere condolences.
