To my Dear Auntie Theresa, cousins David, Stephen, Gary and extended family, I was so so sad to hear about the passing of my Uncle Brendan.

I have so many wonderful memories of him growing up, the fun that me and my sisters had playing chasing and hide and seek in his pigeon loft, not bothered about all the pigeon poo everywhere and getting in our hair.

The endless supply of Richie after dinner mints were amazing and when me and my sister Natalie got to work with him in the actual Ritchie Mint factory, we thought we were so cool.

I remember telling all my friends (especially the boys lol) that I was a Liverpool fan and supporter cos my Uncle Brendan and my cousins said they were the best football team ever!
I actually hadn't got a clue about football and still don't!

One of my favourite memories about my Uncle Brendan is the chats we had when I cut his hair, I started hairdressing so young and he let me practise on him, not worried whether I was doing a good job or not, I would be forever grateful to him, letting me use him as a guinea pig
Helping me to achieve my dream of becoming a fully qualified Hairdresser.

When I think of my Uncle Brendan, these are the words that come to my mind;

Always smiling, Kind gentle, Tall, Always had time for a chat, Never cross or angry

And I will never pass by a packet of Ritchie mints without a smile and thinking fondly of my lovely Uncle.

To Theresa and especially Lauren, I am so sorry to hear of Brendans death. I was looking forward to him coming into the shop to collect his Indo and have a chat. He was a gentleman to his fingertips. I will light a candle in his memory. RIP Brendan.
