My sincere condolences to the Hartnett family on the sad passing of Brendan. Fond memories of my years in Roscrea, and warm welcomes in Kitty and Brendan's house. May Brendan rest in peace.

To the Hartnett family, my condolences on the death of your dad, Brendan. I have such happy childhood memories of Gabriel and I playing (not always quietly) in the house in Rosemary Street. Brendan and Kitty always made me feel welcome and regularly invited me to stay for dinner.

It’s with sadness I heard the news of Brendan’s passing. He was a large figure in our childhood in Glebe House, Moylough. He fitted untold numbers of children into his Volkswagen Beetle and ferried us off for drives and treats, while Kitty and our mother got on with their chats. He was always kind, always patient and always funny. A true gentleman.

Brendan a true gent and fond of hopping the odd ball to get the banter going. Great sporting times had when we got together in the Moylough homestead.
