I played with Hega in his twilight years on the rugby pitch and he introduced me to Taveners Cricket. An intelligent and witty man. It was a pleasure to have played with him. RIP Hega

brendan was a regular caller to see joe moynihan (my stepfather) in the model village they were great buddies debating rugby cricket and soccer and the quality of the local stout.sorry to hear of your passing allways impressed me as a sound man

My condolences to the Hegarty family , Brendan was my boss when I was in my early 20’s & I always reckoned he was the best I ever had, he gave me massive confidence to become an Accountant. Last year Aileen we met at Donie Walsh (RIP) wedding and it was great to meet up after 40+ years.

I am so very sad to hear of lovely Brendans passing. My condolences to you Aileen, Alan, Amy and Julian. I have wonderful memories of roaming the fields of Killowen with Brendan as he thought us about nature during the long summers in the 1980s. I wasn't too happy though thst he would always refer to me as "the city slicker" . You will be sadly missed Brendan. May you now rest in peace 🙏
