I wish to send my condolence to the O' Reilly family on Brendan's passing.He was a true gentleman and a very kind man who was known to our family.May he rest in peace.

Really sorry to hear of the passing of Brendan. Proud to have known this wonderful man and father. Took me to my first match in Croke Park along with Christy and both their families. Taught me how to play cards and always brought out the best in everyone as all these condolences testify to. Thanks Brendan

My deepest sympathy on the death of Brendan. For many years Brendan was with the St. Vincent De Paul Conference in Beaumont where he worked with fellow Vincentians to help those most needy in our society. May Brendan happy soul rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to the O’Reilly family on the loss of Brendan . . . sometimes in life you are blessed to meet someone extraordinary . . . this was the case with Brendan who looked after a young copyboy in The Irish Times with such kindness . . . we shared a mutual passion for horseracing and I would spend hours in the Creed Room listening to Brendan’s amazing stories and how he had visited every national hunt racecourse in the UK . . . but just being in his company was a joy and put you in good form for the long and tedious night shifts . . . he was one the gentlest, inoffensive and loveliest persons I ever worked with in the newspaper business and I’ll never forget him . . . sweet dreams my dear friend.

Deepest sympathies to all the O' Reilly family on the loss of dear Brendan. He was a wonderfully kind and animated man, always full of life and of interest and concern for everyone around him. A great man for the theatre. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad and difficult time.

We all just loved our uncle Brendan, such a special man with a beautiful energy that embraced us all. My Dad (Tom ) and Brendan were very close. He was such a presence in our lives and would take all the communion and confirmation and party pictures throughout the years. When daddy died he came up every week to see mammy until she died , he was a great friend and support for her. I have great memories of the Laytown races that himself and dad came to for many years. Breda was the light of his life and she and Martin and all the others will welcome him home xx

Such a huge loss, Uncle Brendan was so kind, funny and thoughtful. He will never be forgotten.
