I arrived in “pelican house” after Brendan had left for greener pastures but quickly learnt of his expertise and esteemed reputation. I subsequently worked with him on some projects and valued his opinions and advice. He was always very helpful and supportive.

He was a very fine individual, who led the laboratories at the Coombe to significant success. He was a great friend, colleague and confidant.

Jonnie and I remember with great fondness our wonderful times together listening to concerts and attending music festivals - we are thinking back to a very special day we shared in Baltimore walking across the cliffs together and enjoying the beauty of west cork.
