Brendan Kenny

Heartfelt sympathy to Claire and all the Kenny family. I had the pleasure of working with Brendan over a number of years in a voluntary capacity and travelling with him to Ethiopia where we brought the first game of camogie and initiated the ‘Dream Bikes’ campaign to help young girls travel safely to school, filming for RTÉ Nationwide. Brendan was an absolute gentleman to everyone he came into contact with, professional, kind, great company and will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace.

Only learned this morning about Brendan‘s untimely death and I would like to offer my sympathies to his wife, Claire and daughters. I met Brendan on a trip to Ethiopia in 2016 when we filmed a programme for RTÉ Nationwide. He was unfailingly good humoured and generous with his time on that trip. Also met him at Croke Park and at his daughters’ school in Naas. His loss will be deeply felt. Anne Cassin RTÉ

To Claire and the three girls of whom he was so proud may I offer my sincere condolences on the early passing of Brendan. He was a gent and a pleasure to work with. I was sorry to have missed his Celebration of Life as I was admitted to A&E the morning of his Funeral Mass and discharged last week.

I was very sorry to hear of Brendan's passing. He was involved in organising some camogie courses I did in the past. He was one of the nicest, helpful, engaging and pleasant person, you could meet and showed his sense of humour when the situation presented itself. A good communicator who listened attentively to what everyone's opinion was, who attended a course. His enthusiasm for camogie in Kildare is unmatched - he was a huge ambassador of the sport. I have been been in a state of shock and disbelief since hearing, yesterday evening ,of Brendan's terribly sad and untimely passing . I had the privilege of teaching Brendan in 5th and 6th classes in C.B.S. Primary / St. Corban's .That is where I had my first experience of the eternal smile and the spontaneous laughter. It was a constant in the classroom ,the playground and the playing field. In Brendan's world everyone was valued and they knew it. Brendan the man exemplified those same wonderful traits. Knowing Brendan was one of life's great privileges.

So sorry to hear of Brendan's passing. I first met Brendan almost 20 years ago when I coached underage camogie in Leixlip and we regularly played Brendan's Naas teams. He was always so helpful and encouraging of all players. We later worked together on a Kildare development squad. When I moved to Naas in recent years I couldn't believe that Brendan still remembered me by name. He welcomed me warmly to Naas and with a smile reminded me where the club was to become involved. He was a true gentleman. My deepest sympathies to his family.

I was lucky to work with the great Brendan Kenny for three years. Every day, he spoke so lovingly about his wife and three daughters,His overseas stories and how Naas Camogie would win the Championship.
