I was deeply saddened to hear of Brendan McHugh’s recent passing. Over the years, I had the pleasure of meeting him many times in Dublin, and I was always struck by his warmth, calm demeanour, and unfailing courtesy. Brendan had a gift for truly listening, and his empathy and understanding left a lasting impression on me.

My sincere condolences to all of Brendan’s family.

I’m deeply sorry to have just heard the news of Brendan’s passing.

He was the very definition of a truly sweet gentleman. My deepest condolences to the McHugh family during this difficult time.

I have fond memories of Brendan from childhood, in particular him dressing up as Father Jack from Father Ted as we attempted to re-create an episode.

May he rest in peace, and may comfort and gentle memories bring you peace in the days ahead.
