Brendan Munnelly

So sad to hear of the passing of my old friend, Brendan. Sincere condolences to Sineid, John, Alan, extended Munnelly family, and to all his friends whom he touched so deeply. We’d loved to have met him at least one more time.

A gentle soul has departed this world and will be sadly missed. His talents will be held in good stead in the next life. May he rest in peace. Condolences to the family.

Brendan, my heart is broken in two. The most selfless talented beautiful caring men, I’ve ever met in my life. Who taught me things I live by, and will always continue to. Brendan thank you for being you. Thank you for all of the beautiful music, literature, & mainly the hugs & the absolute craic we used to have. In even our darkest times. Brendan made a stark impact on me and helped me through one of the worst times of my life. Selflessly always. Brendan I will always miss you . And honour you. What you taught me about life I will teach my own children.
The rarest of souls I’m so heartbroken I cannot call anymore or read writings he sent me. Brendan you saved me , I hope you are at peace . You were too good for this world . Love you Bren x

I have very fond memories of many's a chat I had with Brendan in Blessings back in the day. They were always very interesting and entertaining. RIP Brendan and sincere condolences to John, Alan and Sinead.

So many memories from our early days in St Pats....the requests and roars mostly to you, to 'get a haircut' and in the years after....waiting in the living room in Church St (while you were getting the hair just right) before nights out in Donohoes, White Star, The Abbey, Blessings, Lakeland, Kilmore and beyond....following various bands around the county and country....the sharp wit, the amazing piano player, the craic on the bus on the way back to college in Dublin. Rest easy. RIP

My memories of Brendan are of a happy, smiling, cool and enthusiast young lad who had time for everyone. The night of his leaving cert results, my wonderful friend, Deirdre (rip), pierced his ear with a darning needle from my mother's sewing box up in Glenside. And cool it looked too! Condolences to all of Brendan's family and friends at this sad time. Rest in peace, Brendan.

I have such lovely memories of Brendan from years ago when we all hung out together in Blessings and headed back to Munnellys for a singing and jamming session on many occasions. His humour was infectious and his musical talent was amazing. He was so delighted to tell me of getting his new home a few years ago and life was good for him. Another young person gone way too soon. My heartfelt condolences to John,Alan & Sinead at this truly heart wrenching time on the loss of your wonderful brother Brendan. Altough we had lost contact in recent years I sit here thinking of the crazy times sitting in your front sitting room head banging to Motorhead,ACDC, Black Sabbeth or the like followed by your usual piano renditions! The Gaeltacht summers away and the usual post mortems of lost love. And the years in Dublin dragging you out after finishing a day in the Library to hit the City...you never refused to head out and you were the most beautiful of company anyone could wish for. I miss that. Rest in Peace Brendan and I hope there's something after this so we can catch up..Decky

I shared a house with Brendan in Dublin. He was a lovely man. My friends and I looked up to him. I remember his stories, keeping the Christmas tree till St Patrick's Day and being a virtuoso on the piano. He loved books, music and art. Brendan enlivened the world with his ideas, music and interests. My family and I are sorry to hear this news. We send our deepest condolences to the Alan, John and the Munnelly family

Sincere sympathy to John Alan and Sinead on the passing of your beloved brother Brendan. I will never forget the evening with our drummer unavailable we approached Brendan who was strolling along main street to help us out. Enroute to the gig we realised we had no drum sticks. Unperturbed Brendan got us to stop where we picked up two sticks from the hedge which surficed.on the way home we found a house party with a piano in the corner. Of course Brendan played same until his fingers bled..what a memory. What a legend. I know you will join that elite band in heaven
