Well Brendan, you made it to the finishing line and all we get to keep are the memories. They were classics though. The weekday visits to Manor West pool. Memorable. The swimming lessons in your 80’s. Unforgettable. The expletives when the Jacuzzi was out of order. Unrepeatable. The trips to Dublin’s historic sites and seats of learning where you fell down some stairs on Brian’s watch in Trinity. Forgettable. Didn’t tell Fiona. Trying to find Brian’s roots in West Cork when all we found were nice pubs which leads us to Thursday evenings at Jess McCarthy’s. Always entertaining. We’ll miss you Brendan but we’ll never forget you.

I had the pleasure of meeting Brendan on numerous occasions in Manor and enjoyed a lovely evening with him over a cup of tea in my house. Such a gentleman and so knowledgeable and entertaining. Brendan was so lucky to have his daughter Fiona who was his main carer for many years. May brendans soul rest in peace.
