So sad you have gone. Thank you for everything. RIP.
I’m afraid I’ve only now heard the saddest of news regarding Brendan’s passing. My deepest condolences to Orla & family. Brendan trained my son, Paul for a short number of years. I always found Brendan to be an absolute gentleman & so encouraging of the children in Kaizen Dojo. He will be missed.
I'm saddened to learn of Brendan's passing and would like to offer condolences to his family, friends and students. I trained in Ballyroan from the late eighties to early 00s and Brendan was an important influence on me growing up during that time. He taught us all a lot about confidence, respect, restraint, hard work, leadership and courage. Long after we've forgotten the kata, we will remember these things. I bumped into him a few years ago in a shopping centre and was touched to find he remembered me clearly - as so many of the comments here have implied, his students meant as much to him as he did to us.
We are so very sorry to hear about Brendan, he was an inspirational sensei and a loss to the Karate world. Thoughts are with you Orla and family.
Barry, Hannah, Maya, Finn and Rían
Orla, my condolences and sympathies to you and the kids on the loss of Brendan. RIP

Dear Orla and Family,
I’m terribly sorry to hear about Brendan’s passing. He was a wonderful teacher and very kind person. We will pray for him and your family. Love Walter, Ralph and Clare O Connor
We are deeply sorry to learn of Brendan's sudden loss. He has always been a welcoming and powerful presence in the gym. Brendan has been a great sensei and mentor to Luke and has taught him so much, not only about karate but also the values of respect, discipline and perseverance.

Brendan will be sadly missed and our hearts go out to Orla and all the family. Wishing you all strength at this time.

Ní Bheidh A Leithéid Arís Ann.
Orla and family, so sad for your loss, have not been back to dojo in recent times post RTC - wishing you all strength and community together, N
So sorry to hear of Brendans passing. Thoughts with Orla and family.
Brendan and Orla created such a welcoming environment in the Kaizen Dojo whether you were sharpening your Shotokan skills, challenging yourself at TRX classes or just socialising with this amazing mix of families and individuals who supported each other at every opportunity.

Brendan was ever present with his caring nature and encouragement, always watching over his karateka and pushing us to discover a better version of ourselves. We enjoyed his knowledge of many subjects, his passion for karate, his values and his sense of mischief. He had such an impact on our family and we will miss him terribly. Brendan will live on in our hearts.

He would have been immensely proud of the hugely emotional Kaizen Dojo karateka guard of honour at his funeral, the heart-felt words from John, Laragh, Nicole, Josh and others and would have loved the katas performed after his Cremation Service.

Rest in Peace Sensei Brendan and thank you. Oss.

Jirka, Chris & family
From the moment that we started at Kaizen, we felt part of the family and the dojo always felt like home. Brendan inspired both Ernesto and myself to always try to be better; he literally inspired Kaizen. I have no doubt that we will continue to be motivated by him even now. We are devastated by his sudden passing and our hearts go out to Orla and the rest of the family.
Rest in peace Sensai. Oss.

Sensei Brendan Perry was the epitome of a true gentleman. Brendan dedicated his life to Karate and to helping others in their journey in life. I will never forget how Sensei Brendan helped me and I am deeply saddened by his sudden loss. Such an extraordinary life lived. May he rest in peace.
Broken hearted to hear of Brendan's passing.
I trained under Sensai Perry for 12 years in Ballyroan, i was 7 when i started...i wasn't athletic or co-ordinated but he helped me achieve black belt. He was like a second dad to us all up there.

I can still hear him telling us "reptition is the mother of learning" or our Dojo-Kun "Exert oneself in the perfection of character"...he was such a positive influence for so many young people.

My thought are with his family at this sad time.

Rest easy Sensai.
Deepest condolences Orla, Laragh, Nicole, Josh, Janet, Lorraine & all the Perry family. Shocked and saddened to hear of Brendan's passing. Our thoughts are with you all at this very difficult time.
So sorry to hear about Brendan's passing.
Brendan was my sensai in Ballyboden, he was somebody I really looked up to and respected as a kid and teenager. His passion and dedication inspired his students and helped me achieve a black belt at 14 years old.

I hadn't seen Brendan in years but knowing him left a mark on my life, and very fond memories. He was such a gentleman.

Thinking of you all at such a heartbreaking time.

Rest in peace Brendan and thank you!
Rest in peace , Sensei Perry.

I started training with Brendan when I was 7 years old and he was the first person I felt ever truly believed I could be good at something. He believed in me and he pushed me to my absolute limits, teaching me so much more about the world than I could have ever realised at the time.

Thanks to Brendan, I have a work ethic and discipline stronger than most at my age. The dojo was always my safe place growing up, and taught me control over my emotions. I can’t thank Brendan enough for everything he unknowingly taught me for the guts of 10 years.

I am sending all my love and strength to Josh , Nicole , Orla , Laragh and all of Brendan’s family and friends.

Rest in peace sensei❤️

I first met Brendan in the old library in Ballyboden when he was a green belt (circa 1977). You didn’t need to spend long with Brendan to know he was special. I particularly remember Brendan’s courage. We trained hard together but always with good spirit in Ballyroan for many years. Brendan was a great Sensei, mentor and friend. Reading beautiful message after message on RIP says all you need to know about this great and kind man. My deepest condolences to Brendan’s family and to all his many friends, students, ex students. I was so sorry to hear of the devastating loss of the legend that is Sensei Perry.

I feel so lucky to have trained under, and been coached by Sensei Perry during my time at Ballyroan WSKF. Brendan saw the potential in each person and helped push them towards achieving their goals.
I have fierce admiration for Brendan as a coach and mentor, he truly had a very important role in shaping who I am today. He taught me discipline, courage, perseverance and so much more.
I will never forget the support he gave me in overcoming my anxiety before the Karate Worldcup in Cyprus, he helped me believe in myself and was the driving force behind one of my proudest achievements.

Very sad to hear of Brendans sudden passing.

I thoroughly appreciate Brendans words of advice to me as a competitor over the years and conversations more recently now as coach. He was extremely proud of his students and they greatly admired him.

Thank you for all you have done for Karate in Ireland, Brendan. May he rest in peace.
Deeply saddened to hear Brendan has passed. I worked with Brendan in Bank of Ireland and trained with him on a few occasions. We always had great chats about Karate of which he had a deep knowledge. Sincere condolences to all the family.
