I am so sad to hear this news. We were neighbours and I went to school and hung out with Brendan many years ago. I met him recently in Beaumont Hospital and we chatted for a while. It was a chat I won't forget, I hadn't known he was ill. He was so kind and accepting of his illness, it really struck me. I am heartbroken for you all, Nora, Tommy, Susan, Jackie and Derek as well as Brendan's wife and family. Taken too young, Brendan, may you rest in peace.

It's with great sadness we heard the passing of poor Brendan. Far too young to go but glad he's out of suffering. It was lovely to see his daughter Kerrie married in the hospital church with Brendan present. That would have meant the world to him. Even through his last days he remained the same Brendan - well able to debate about his football, pitch and putt and sport in gereral with a permanent smile on the face. The bravery and dignity he showed throughout his illness was amazing. We have lost a good one but the imprint of fun and positivity he left on life will remain with us all. He was one in a millon. So easy to make friends with and I'm glad we did. Condolences to Barbara, Kerrie, Daniel, Aoife and all the family. Fly high Brendan - we will miss you.
