I first got to know him in KARE, and then subsequently in Cheeverstown. He also served on the Board of the National Federation of Voluntary Bodies when I was Chairman. A true friend, a wise counsellor, and someone who was very pleasant company when the work was done. May his kind and gentle soul rest in peace.

Brendan returned from Newfoundland to take up the position of CEO with Kare here in Kildare over 30 years ago. His competence and his many abilities among people quickly changed the character of our organisation and set it on its development path. So many parents and families have so much to be grateful for because of his work in the six years he spent with us. To Brendan and to your family a simple thank you may seem inadequate. But thank you from all of us. It is the least we can say at this time.
