Brendan SWEENEY

So sorry to learn of Brendan's passing. Knew Brendan from the early 70's when he did business with Loftus Bryan Chemicals, Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow. Always found him an honourable, decent and friendly person. Met him in later years, in Lourdies in Achill, where we resumed that friendship and recounted stories of his visits. May He Rest in Peace.

My memories of Brendan are ones of fun, laughter, generosity and warmth whenever we met. Great days in Achill and Dublin were had. I'll miss him but I'm so glad I had the pleasure of knowing him. First of all sincere sympathy to all the family. I sayed in leinster square some years ago with Dympna. I got married from that house to Brian in Rathmines church Brendan came with Jane and trust her into my arms its part of our wedding album. It was a pleasure to stay with them again great memories . Joan,Jane,Luke and Grace accept my sincere sympathy on the passing of your beloved Brendan.What a man.What memories,Brendan and his friend Joey O’Hora came to stay with me in Donegal to fish sharks.Much of the action took place indoors, before they left Downings they were known as “ The big white hunters “ There were days shark fishing off Keem and Achill Head and the afters in Pips and Lourdes.How I miss being with you on the 25th.I promise I will raise a glass in Craic agus Ceol in Lanzarote at 1.30 on that day.The Carnival might be over….C’est la vie….but the memories .
