My sincere condolences to all the family. I am Brendan’s cousin living in the US.
Brendan lived with our family when he attended the University of Maryland. My fondest memory of him was he entertaining us by playing the accordion.
Brendan reached out to me after the death of my husband, Jack. I will always remember his kindness at that difficult time.
I have read through all of the messages on the condolence page and am greatly impressed by all the beautiful remembrances. I hope this brings you much comfort. I will have a Mass said for Brendan. May he rest in peace.

I knew Brendan for a lifetime. We grew up together in Smithboro. He was a hardworking member of Fine Gael and got elected to Dáil Éireann. In later years we would meet at funerals in Magherarney church where we both had connections.

Dear Mrs Toal & Family my sincere condolences to you all on the death of Brendan. I first had the privilege of meeting Brendan as a 10 yr old when I attended the FG Convention in Monaghan in 1974 with my late Father Pat Joe & Tom Fitzpatrick , I had the pleasure of meeting him when I was a TD in late 80s & 90s and he was always wonderful company. Unfortunately I was unable to attend his funeral , but my thoughts are with u all at this sad time . Rest easy Brendan

Our condolences to you all on the passing of Uncle Brendan. While we are saddened by this news, we are so glad to have had the time with him during our visit in 2018 and phone calls over the years to stay connected. Family was so important to him. We will miss him dearly.
