I had the pleasure of working closely with Brett in Dublin for several years. He was one of the finest engineers I've met. More importantly, he was a good friend, kind and always willing to help out or passionately discuss details of the projects we were working on. He will be missed.
My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.

My deepest condolences to all of Brett's family on his untimely and sad passing. Thinking of you all at this very difficult time. It was a pleasure to work with Brett at SIG.
I'm very sorry to hear about Brett’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with him for several years. He was always a kind and calm person with a real passion for mountain biking. I remember our coffee conversations about his weekend trips to the mountains. He was not only a brilliant engineer but, more importantly, a wonderful colleague — patient when explaining things, yet never afraid to speak his mind.
He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the chance to meet him. My sincere condolences to his family during this difficult time.

Helen Charlie and Alex very sorry to hear about Bretts passing. Sad times for you all.
I knew Brett since a early childhood. We were besties in both primary and high school and spent many adventurous weekends Boy Scouting towards achieving the Springbok Scout honour at 8th St Albans, Pretoria. He came to visit me in Dublin during a two year sojourn of mine there in 1995. He convinced me to join him skiing in the Alps with his good folks, John and Alphia (I had never skied before and managed to teach myself the skill in one day with a lot of help from him and his folks!) After a week of absolute bliss, he then taught me some hitch-hiking skills he had learnt hitch-hiking through Europe with his friend Mark the year prior. We hitched our way through a very cold and snowy Europe, spending one very uncomfortable night in the Frankfurt station freezing our asses off. When I left Dublin two years later, he took over the room I had been staying in at my friend Gerry Farrell's home, later meeting Helen and married her in 2000 where I had the honour of playing the role of his best man. He made Dublin his home until his unexpected passing recently. I have been deeply saddened by his passing and write this with tears in my eyes. My heartfelt condolences go out to Helen, Charlie, Alex, Grant and the rest of his family and friends. Rest in peace dear Brett, I am truly sorry I won't be able to experience the craic with you in Dublin again.
To Brett’s family, very sorry to hear of your loss. Having known Brett from Sig I always found him to be a knowledgable and friendly person. May he rest in peace .

to my good neighbours Helen, Charlie, And Alex so sorry for your loss. Bart Counihan
I'm very saddened to hear of this great loss. Brett acted for a time as an early, and always very insightful, mentor of mine at SIG, one whose advice and help were always freely-offered and greatly appreciated. He was additionally always also very humourous and good company at occasional after-work drinks or occasions. My most sincere condolences to his family on his sad passing.
I have great and fun memories of Brett over the years. I'm incredibly saddened for your loss Helen, Charlie and Alex. He was a great guy and will be very much missed.
(I too remember that he was one of the few who would occasionally brave the Irish sea down at Forty Foot on Dec 31st. Fun times.)

I worked and sat alongside Brett for several years. He had an exceptional mind, but I'll remember his patience and mentorship most of all. I always enjoyed hearing about his varied adventures with his family; it was clear he was very proud of them. My sincere condolences on his passing.
Alex, Charlie, Helen, and the Williams family,
I was so sorry to hear about Brett. I first met him about ten years ago at a very cold New Year’s Eve swim at Seapoint, and got to know him better over the years after that. The one thing that always struck me was how incredibly proud of his kids he was (who joined us on those cold swims many times!).
It makes me sad to think of the sadness and loss you must be feeling right now. Sending you all much strength and love. He will be missed.

I knew Brett as an intelligent, patient and calm colleague with a wonderful sense of humour. Although it is some years since I worked with him, I still remember him fondly.
