It was with great sadness I learned of my good friend Brian’s passing. He was a man I thought would live for ever as he had the heart of a lion. Tough as nails on the athletic scene and he often said his brother Paul and himself were born in Sheffield( Made of steel) Brian was a great friend who never left anybody down when a job was to be done where water pipes were involved. A heart of gold. He showed grit and determination when life took a turn and himself and Mary were a match made in heaven.When Brian met and married Mary he said he won the lottery and he definitely did. Mary you are the greatest and I have seen your encouragement and powers of persuasion in action when they were needed and it is always a joy to call for the tae and chat. Brian you are gone physically from us but you will never be forgotten. There’s a good book in you. A true friend. So to Mary my sincere condolences, ye were the best team I ever knew. Lanzarotte is weeping. To Paul my friend my condolences auld stock and to Jennifer,Stacy and James my condolences and to the wider families and many many friends my condolences. He was a supreme husband and father who loved ye all and as a friend I will miss him terribly. So Brian you ran the best race buddy and may God wrap his arms around you and welcome you home as you cross the finishing line. Slán abhaile mo chara

My fond memories of Brian are when he was living at Ivy Terrace Tralee with his mother Maureen and father John brother Paul and his sisters many years ago we used all have great fun playing around that area.

Brian had a God given talent for running and he achieved the highest standard in doing so also Brian and his wife gave time and energy to the stroke group in Tralee.

May God welcome Brian into his heavenly kingdom and may his soul rest in eternal peace.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Brian’s passing. He was a gentleman to his core, always radiating positivity and good humour. Brian and his beloved Mary were instrumental in establishing the Stroke Day Service and the Stroke Support Group in Kerry. Together, they carried out extraordinary work, advocating for and delivering vital services to those living with stroke.

The legacy will live on in the lives they have touched. Brian will be deeply missed but always remembered.

May he rest in eternal peace.
